Thalassemia:

On July 19th, 2025 the NTR Trust Thalassemia Run was held at Visakhapatnam RK Beach, organized by NTR Memorial Trust.This event was a grand success with thousands of people, especially youth, participating with great enthusiasm.I wholeheartedly thank each and every one of you who took part and made this noble cause impactful.

Through this marathon, we aimed to create awareness about Thalassemia, a serious inherited blood disorder. This disease, once it affects a family, brings unimaginable physical, emotional, and financial burdens. The treatment process requires lifelong blood transfusions and medication, which is why public awareness is so important. By spreading awareness, we can help prevent new cases through early detection and genetic counseling. Awareness is vital for prevention through early detection & genetic counseling.

At NTR Memorial Trust, we are committed to serving the people through blood donation camps, health initiatives, and awareness programs.

The Trust has been continuously working towards eradicating Thalassemia by supporting patients and encouraging preventive care. Your encouragement strengthens our resolve to expand these activities further.

I sincerely thank the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, especially the Vizag citizens, for your overwhelming response. Around 81,610 people participated in this run, and with your cooperation, we were able to spread the message far and wide.

We also extend special thanks to government officials, voluntary organizations, media friends, and all the well-wishers who supported us in organizing this event successfully.

This journey is not just about organizing one marathon – it is about building a healthier society where no child suffers because of lack of awareness or support. With your blessings and active participation, we will continue to move forward with greater energy.
